Site is now Seasons Of War
Submitted by sniffmaster on Sun, 10/11/2009 - 18:19.You may have noticed that I changed the name of the site. Everything works the same and all of your games still exist, just the URLs and name of the site has changed.
Why did I do this? Well the old name, sniff yur enemy really made no sense. In fact, it was more or less a joke I had. The new name is a bit more relevant to the context of the game and it's actually a fairly cool domain name. Hope you like it!
Let's try this again
Submitted by sniffmaster on Fri, 10/09/2009 - 22:56.I have my fingers crossed that the board loading problem is now resolved. Please try the game again and let me know if you find any problems.
Let's get this show on the road.

Internet Explorer patch pushed
Submitted by sniffmaster on Tue, 12/18/2007 - 23:02.I pushed a patch fix today that seems to have temporarily fixed the issue with the board not loading in Internet Explorer. I say temporarily because the board actually loads a bit slower in Safari and Firefox now.
Hopefully I can put in a real fix soon, in the meantime, everyone can play now and I really appreciate everyone who reported the problem. Keep the feedback coming!
If the board still does not load for you, Internet Explorer may have cached an old copy of the javascript file that runs the board. To fix this, you can either hold down the Shift key while you refresh the game board, or clear your browsers cache.
Internet Expolorer 7 Problems
Submitted by sniffmaster on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 16:36.It has become apparent that the board is not loading properly in IE 7. This makes it difficult to attack or fortify because the board only loads once every few times you refresh the page. I am aware of this and am working diligently to fix it. As soon as it is resolved, I will post an update.
In the meantime, if you have access to Firefox (something you should have anyway), Safari or an earlier version of IE, that should work.
My apologies for the inconvenience.

New Features and Fixes: View Opponents Cards and Army count
Submitted by sniffmaster on Mon, 12/10/2007 - 10:14.You can now view the number of cards each of your opponents has in their hand. Of course, you don't know what their cards are, just how many they have. You may see the number of cards on the Details page along with the total armies they will receive on the next round.
I also made a small fix to the board. Previously the number of armies for Afghanistan and Eastern China were hidden. They are now visible.
Happy sniffing!

pre-beta introduction
Submitted by sniffmaster on Sun, 11/18/2007 - 11:33.Hello,
It has been an interesting adventure putting this site together and I am excited to start sending out the first round of invites. Before getting things started with the public I thought I would share a bit about how this site came about.
First and foremost I started this project as a means to practice web development. The site is almost exclusively written in PHP and utilizes MySQL. I was also able to integrate DHTML principles when designing the game's board, which is displayed using CSS. I am not sure this was the best approach, but it works for now and is something I can probably improve as I learn new tricks. Additionally, the game concept provides some interesting content to get creative with when thinking about social networking and feeds, something I hope to explore sooner than later.
