sniff yur enemy is a game you can play with your friends at your own pace. Each player is notified by email only when there is an action they need to take, such as responding to an invitation or starting their turn. This means that players do not all need to be online at the same time to play the game. A single game might take a day or several weeks depending on how quickly each player takes their turn.

So enjoy the game at your leisure, and if you are eager to play faster, than create more games with more friends.

The following outlines a simplified game.

  • Player A creates a new game called "friends game"
  • Player A invites players B and C to join
  • Player B receives an invitation via email, follows the link to join the game, chooses a nickname and color and enters a registration code. Now players A and B have joined the game, but the game hasn't started yet because Player C hasn't responded to the invitation.
  • Player C eventually opens his email and follows the process to join the game. When he/she joins, the game (because it's intelligent) realizes that there are no more pending players and automatically starts the game. At this time the countries are distributed, armies are calculated and the order of the players is determined at random.
  • Player C is returned to the game board and is shown a message that the game has started, but that it is Player B's turn.
  • Player B receives an email notification that it is his/her turn so he/she visits the game and completes the turn.
  • The next player is notified of their turn and so on until...
  • Player C captures Player A's last territory, sniffing (aka eliminating) Player A from the game. Player A is notified that they have been "sniffed".
  • Players C and B continue until one of them captures the entire board and wins the game.
